TabEver helps you rediscover pages you have browsed in your current Chrome browser. It requires no account, provides no cloud sync and includes no advertising trackers. Page records and searches are processed on your device and are not sent to the developer or an AI service.

Local search and its limits

Offline search resources occupy about 387 MB before other extension files; this is not the download size or runtime memory usage. Setup takes time and uses device memory and processing power. Smart search needs a Chrome environment that supports WebGPU. After selecting “Prepare Smart Search”, wait for the interface to confirm that setup is complete.

Search may miss relevant pages or return unrelated results. No results means no usable candidates were found; it does not prove that the archive has no relevant pages. Search errors are shown in the interface. Wait for initial setup to finish before searching.

What is processed on your device

For eligible HTTP/HTTPS pages, TabEver automatically collects a sanitised URL, title, short summary, language, timestamps and local site icon, and creates semantic vectors. It does not read Chrome’s full browsing-history database. Saved URLs normally stop at the path, excluding query parameters and fragments. Exceptions retain only the identifier needed for YouTube videos and playlists, Hacker News posts, and Taobao and Tmall product pages. Some pages may therefore not reopen exactly as before.

Saved pages, settings, offline licenses and vectors remain in this extension’s browser storage. Titles, summaries and URL paths may still contain personal information; local processing does not remove all privacy risks.

TabEver does not currently encrypt its saved archive, settings or local license data. Keeping data on your device does not mean it is encrypted at rest.

Two filters are enabled by default

Privacy mode detects sensitive health queries, personal accounts, private messages and some other private content. The mature-content filter detects adult, gambling, graphic-violence and self-harm content. Original URL query strings, temporary body-text signals of up to about 2000 characters, content ratings and signals that a form is present are used only for local decisions. Form values are not read. These signals are not saved as body text in records or diagnostic logs, or sent to the developer or a classification service.

Newly detected content is not saved. Existing matching records are hidden from lists, search, the index and exports; enabling a filter does not delete them. Filters use limited local rules and may miss or misclassify content. They only govern what TabEver saves. They do not verify age, provide parental controls or block website access.

Your controls

Records are kept for 90 days by default, adjustable from 7 to 3650 days. Pausing collection affects future saving only. Incognito pages are not collected. Enabling a filter only hides matching records; it does not delete them. Hidden records remain subject to retention, excluded-domain and manual-deletion rules. Adding an excluded domain, retention cleanup, deleting records or clearing the archive removes the corresponding data. Back up first.

Exports and external services

JSON backups and Pro context files are downloaded only when you request them, with current protection settings still applied. Sharing a file gives its contents to your chosen recipient; review it first. Opening a result visits the original website, whose own policies apply. Gmail processes support email. Creem is the planned payment processor, but purchases are not yet available. Payment, delivery and privacy details will be published before sales open.

TabEver’s data-use commitments under the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy’s Limited Use requirements are: no sale of saved data, no advertising use and no upload to the developer. This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit, Cloudflare processes network addresses, requests and security-related data as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. This website has no developer-configured access logs, analytics scripts, advertising trackers or cookie-based login. The host may still process necessary network data. The website does not read pages or searches saved in the extension.
